Arizona Biltmore: A Waldorf Astoria Resort Arizona Biltmore: A Waldorf Astoria Resort

We want to alert you to this special event marking the 75th anniversary of Taliesin West.

On Sunday, March 11th from 5pm to 7pm, the Arizona Biltmore will host a special reception for you to meet Pedro E. Guerrero, Frank Lloyd Wright's personal photographer. Guerrero will provide intimate details about his challenging and often humorous experiences working with Wright over a period of two decades.

Though he is 94 now, Guerrero has not lost any of the charm and wit that prompted Wright's snap decision in 1939 to hire him right out of art school. “I showed him a portfolio of school assignments, mostly nudes on a beach and a plate of ham and eggs,” Guerrero recalled. “That he hired me as an architectural photographer on the basis of these specimens testifies to the fact that he was an optimist.” This fifteen minute encounter began a twenty year association which lasted until the architect's death and produced some of the most important photographs ever taken of Wright's work and Wright himself.

Tickets are $60 per person and include wine and heavy hors d'oeuvres.
